Cassandra Egelston – Career Bio (2015–2018) Cassandra Egelston was a four-year starter for Mercyhurst University, a Division II program competing in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). Known for her versatility and leadership, she played three different positions during her freshman year—catcher, third base, and outfield—before settling into a consistent role at third base for the remainder of her collegiate career. Over 154 games, Egelston compiled a career batting average of .247, with: 111 hits in 449 at-bats 95 runs scored 36 RBIs 19 doubles, 3 home runs 35 stolen bases with only 9 times caught stealing 76 walks. Defensively, she was a reliable and agile presence: Involved in 522 fielding chances Made 197 putouts and 294 assists. Committed just 31 errors Achieved a fielding percentage of .941.
Post-Playing Career After graduating, Egelston continued her impact on the program by serving as a graduate assistant coach for Mercyhurst softball during the 2019 and 2020 seasons, helping mentor the next generation of student-athletes.
